If you ever need to generate SSH keys I whould suggest you to use Putty Key Generator (PuttyGen)
If you need to download PuttGen you can find it on this download page: This page
You can select to only download the PuttyGen tool or a complete set of tools (wich I suggest you doso you get Putty, Putty is a free open source software wich helps you with SSH connections.)
After you have downloaded the package that you feelt was for you, just search on PuttyGen and klick the result as listed below.
When you have the Putty Key Generator open it isnt much to say about it, select what kind of key you need how many bytes (2048 is suggested) and klick ”Generate”.
After that you need to move the cursor over the rectangle inside ”Putty Key Generator” after a short while you will have your keyed generated and all you need to do is to select a password or not and then save the keys.!
Just to have some sort of secrurity I whould suggest that you choose a password, the password you are selecting you will be prompt to enter when using the ke.
I will tell you in another post about how to use a public/private ssh key to connect from a Windows Server to a Linux server with Rebex SFTP.
